100 year old woman enjoys tandem paragliding flight

To celebrate her 100th birthday Peggy McAlpine, a rather fearless great-grandmother, took a tandem paragliding flight. Peggy decided to take a tandem seeing paragliders regularly flying. Her tandem pilot said that 100 year old Peggy
"was cool, relaxed and landed perfectly.” Peggy said paragliding was “far superior” to bungee jumping which she tried on her 80th birthday! Who do you know that would appreciate a unique experience for a birthday , anniversary or christmas.

Paragliding hike and Fly Mt Si in North Bend Washington

Here is a video of a no wind paragliding launch from Mt Si.

John Clifford flying a paraglider from Mt Si in difficult wind and weather conditions.

His first words on seeing the launch were " are you sure this the place to launch ? "

The launch has snow, ice, boulders, bushes, and small trees and it is steep with slippery footing. Launching requires a confident and smooth pull up of the a paraglider and quickly applying adequate inputs to guide the pilot into the wind and away from the obstacles.

After launching John soared for 35 minutes at cloudbase and landed because a storm cell with hail and rain was approaching.
